BOCCIOLI

“Boccioli” è uno scialle asimmetrico con una forma inconsueta.

Tutti i bordi sono lavorati a coste ritorte e i vivagni laterali sono rifiniti con un i-cord che dona un aspetto più curato allo scialle.

Si incomincia a lavorare da una punta un semplice motivo di coste ritorte, pizzo e trecce che simula i rami primaverili ricchi di gemme su una base di maglia rasata rovescia.

Arrivati all’altezza desiderata, che si può facilmente personalizzare a seconda di quanto filato si possiede, si prosegue la lavorazione con i veri e propri “boccioli”: un punto pizzo che ricopre l’intera superficie dello scialle.

Si conclude con un piccolo bordo a coste ritorte.

I vari punti pizzo sembrano complicati e le istruzioni scritte sono molto lunghe,

ma in realtà si potrà vedere fin da subito che le lavorazioni sono molto intuitive e, a dispetto dei vari passaggi, anche piuttosto ripetitive e facilmente memorizzabili.

“Boccioli” (the word for “buds” in Italian) is an asymmetric shawl with an unusual shape.

All of the borders are worked in twisted rib and the side selvedges are trimmer with an I-cord giving the shawl neat, clean edges.

Work begins from one of the points using a simple pattern on a reverse stockinette background using twisted rib, lace and cables to create the look of branches in spring, full of buds.

Once the desired height is reached , the shawl can be easily personalized based how much yarn you have. Continue by working the “buds”: a lace stitch that covers the entire surface of the shawl. The shawl is completed by a narrow twisted rib border.

The various lace stitches seem complicated and the written instructions are long, 

but in reality, the knitter will immediately see that the pattern is very intuitive and, despite the various steps, which are rather repetitive, the pattern is easy to memorize.
