Era da un po' di tempo che pensavo di scrivere un libro: ne sono una grande consumatrice e mi diverto moltissimo a sfogliarli e collezionarli. Ero molto combattuta perché, se da una parte la mia voglia di provarci era tanta, dall'altra temevo di non essere all'altezza del compito.
Dopo tanti tentennamenti, ho deciso: l'avrei fatto! La mia voglia di tentare ha vinto.
Ed ecco che è nato KARTEN.
Il libro ha preso forma in modo molto casuale, da un viaggio meraviglioso che ho fatto attraverso l’Austria e la Germania proprio quest'estate. "Karten" in tedesco vuol dire "cartoline" e vuole essere un omaggio ai miei Stati preferiti in assoluto!
I nomi degli accessori, quindi, sono quelli delle città che ho visitato e che più mi sono rimaste nel cuore… volevo, inoltre, che gli schemi avessero un filo conduttore, per presentare una visione armonica d'insieme. Per me, che sono una ex pittrice, questa cosa è davvero molto importante.
E quindi ecco perché osserverete che hanno caratteristiche comuni: il colore viola, i filati sottili, la maglia legaccio, alcuni semplici punti in pizzo e il bordo rifinito dal picot.

I had been wanting to write a book for some time: I am an avid reader and I love collecting and leaving through books. But, I was uncertain: on the one hand I really wanted to try my hand at composing a book, but on the other, I wasn’t sure that I could pull it off. In the end, my heart won over my intellect and I was sure I could do it!
And so, KARTEN was born!
It all happened by chance during a wonderful trip through Austria and Germany last summer. In German, “Karten” means “postcards” and this book is a tribute to my favorite countries!
The names of the accessories are “postcards” from the cities I visited which found a special place in my heart… I wanted the patterns to have a theme so they would form a harmonious collection. Being an ex painter, this is very important for me.
As you leaf through the patterns, you will note that they have several characteristics in common: the color purple, fine yarns, garter stitch, several simple lace motifs and picot borders.
